Accounts Payable Clerk

Payment Administrator, Full-Time, Permanent, Central Newcastle, £22,000 Per Annum

My client is a leading national real estate developer looking for a Payments Administrator to join their growing finance team in Newcastle.

Main duties include:

  • Processing UK and International payments using BACS system, online banking, or cheques

  • Ensure payments are submitted to verified bank details only

  • Check payment runs for accuracy, data integrity, potential duplicates, erroneous transactions, and negate where required

  • Ensure payments receive relevant checks and approval before submission

  • Investigate and resolve returned payments

  • Dealing with supplier remittances

  • Respond to any complaints received and resolving within a timely manner

  • Regularly updating verified changes to supplier bank details

  • Effective handling of all payment queries received by telephone and/or email

  • All ad hoc duties as required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years in a similar role

  • Excellent organisational & administrative skills

  • Strong numeracy skills

  • Minimum intermediate level usage of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word & Excel

  • Solid team player

  • An AAT qualification, qualified or part qualified

  • Experience within the property and construction industry would be advantageous but not essential
