Cobalt are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join one of Europe's best knows high street retailers, specifically to sit within their property team.

Working alongside the wider finance function, this role has been designed for personal and professional development, as well as continued technical assistance from an experienced management base.

Joining the London team, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of finance functions, as well as work across the other jurisdictions including specifically the UK & Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Month-end and mid-month Group cash reporting

  • Assist with preparation of month-end and mid-month bank reconciliations

  • Assist the team with quarterly VAT return preparation

  • Help the UK team with monthly cash-flow forecasting

  • Assist with rent collections and service charge

  • Purchase Ledger function, processing payments and updating exchange rates within the accounting system

  • Assist with Balance Sheet reviews and analysis for senior management

  • Sales Ledger, dealing with credit control and liaising with Fund teams

  • Assist the UK team with preparation of annual statutory UK financial statements

  • Data collection by liaising with the fund finance function to ensure year end external audit deliverables are met in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Part Qualified and studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualified

  • Strong inter-personal skills with a keen willingness to develop your skill set

  • Prior experience working within real estate & property

  • Knowledge of service charge budgets and rent is advantageous

  • SAP system experience is advantageous but not essential

  • Team player with an ability to self motivate with a remote/virtual start
