Cobalt is seeking an ambitious Assistant Facilities Manager to join the team at one of Manchester's landmark commercial developments, following an internal promotion. Our client is one of the industries most recognisable names, synonymous with managing prestigious properties and as a trend-setter for UK Real Estate.

They operate with a culture of training and developing their site staff to be the best in the market, marrying traditional building management skills with a modern ESG-centric approach which culminate in a top tier total fm experience for their tenants. You'll be surrounded by a strong support structure with proper processes in place to ensure you can work effectively and efficiently thus maintaining a great work-life balance, whilst having professional courses and memberships such as NEBOSH and IWFM paid for by our client.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the General Manager with the day to day management of a 300,000 sq ft + multi-let commercial development;

  • Assisting with setting and managing the service charge budgets;

  • Managing the work of external contractors for both hard and soft services - taking full autonomy over set service lines in time;

  • Helping to ensure the effective maintenance of the site, including CAPEX projects as the client proactively invests in the building;

  • Focusing on creating a quality tenant experience, including managing on-site events throughout the year;

  • Helping to promote sustainability wherever possible;

  • Ensuring H&S compliance.

Due to the size and complexity of this asset, our client is seeking someone with a foundation of FM knowledge in managing entire buildings and common parts - either as an Assistant FM, or as a Building Manager for a small development previously. As an ambitious, proactive, forward-thinking facilities professional, you'll find yourself invested in with plenty of exposure to all aspects of managing a trophy asset and access to external and internal training to take you to the next level. An IOSH qualification is desirable but not essential.
