Our client is a leading global investor, developer and operator with a multi-billion-pound asset portfolio. Due to expansion of their project portfolio, they are looking for an Assistant Development Manager to join the team based in the Reading area and assist on high profile commercial developments across the UK.

Remuneration:

£40,000 - £50,000 + leading benefits package + Bonus

The successful Assistant will be joining a dynamic business with over £1 billion assets under management and an expanding development and office asset portfolio. They will be involved in high profile developments including new build and refurbishments within their southern business parks, residential developments and Grade A offices predominantly located along the M4 corridor; but also covering London, Scotland and the rest of the UK. Working within the asset management and development team you will support the appointing and managing of external professional and design teams and over-see the contractor work from concept and planning to completion.

The current development team are looking for a dynamic individual with good commercial acumen who will contribute to the wider business parks strategy. Handling a high volume of properties simultaneously, the team require a highly organised individual who can take ownership of the daily administrative requirements and document coordination. There is an opportunity for progression to a project or development manager position working on projects from £150,000 up to £1M construction cost.

This progressive role encompasses organisation skills including but not limited to; contract administration, compliance and appointment documentation, adhering to governance standards, preparing client instructions and assuring adherence to business protocols. Financial experience is also required for cost-tracking, creating purchase orders and coordinating tender openings.

Due to the location of the business parks the role will be based circa 3 days in Reading and 1 or 2 days in the London office / working from home. There will be local travel involved due to the location of current sites in the Home Counties. Support through MRICS also offered.

Requirements:

  • Chartered MAPM / MRICS or equivalent preferable but not essential

  • Experience in office CAT A/B fit-out, refurb and new build projects

  • Highly organised with excellent coordination skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication

  • Ambitious self-starter with Project Management/Development or Building Surveyor background
