Assistant Manager - Fund Accounting

Cobalt is currently working with a market leading professional services firm, specialising in real estate funds. As the company grows, and onboard larger clients, they are looking to expand their team.

The successful applicant will be in a client facing role, leading a team to ensure the delivery of accounting and administration services.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a small team of Fund Accountants

  • Ensuring client work is delivered efficiently and on budget

  • Reviewing profitability, scope creep and ensuring work is completed by appropriate level of staff

  • Ensuring information received from third parties is sufficient and of a high standard

  • Workload planning and staff development, including appraisals and objective setting

  • Review of deliverables to clients, including financial statements, cash flows and associated notes including liaison with clients over transaction related issues

  • Organising take-on and set-up of new clients

  • Maintaining and developing existing client relationships through good management of team and deliverables

  • Analysing financial information underlying the financial statements, including the treatment of business transactions

  • Preparation of asset level management reporting for the client and seeking new ways to provide informative and concise information

  • Calculation of deal and fund level IRR's and other performance metrics

  • Dealing with year-end audit issues including ensuring preparation of relevant files and resolving issues

  • Ad hoc projects to assist in growing the business

Requirements:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified

  • Previous experience in real estate with a good understanding of fund structures

  • A good understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS and other relevant accounting structures

  • Ability to prepare and review large consolidations

  • Previous managerial experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
