Assistant Property Accountant

Cobalt are working with a leading develop to find a seeking the new member of their team. This individual will oversee the accounting function of their own portfolio of properties and requires a meticulous and analytical mind to ensure the accounts are accurate and balanced.

This is a client side opportunity, ideal for someone who is committed to the property sector and has a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all service charges are correct and variances are logged, communicated and amended in a timely manner

  • Assisting in reporting that will be presented at company meetings to communicate discrepancies and answering queries

  • Loading service charge budgets onto the property management system

  • Working with surveyors and property managers to create and approve budgets for expanding developments and acquired properties

  • Reviewing budgets across service charges and rents and ensuring the general ledger is balanced at month and quarter end

  • Building rapport with auditors and ensuring queries are answer quickly and efficiently

  • Adhering to strict deadlines to ensure the cash flow of rent and service charge collections are accurate across all accounts

Personal Specification:

  • Prior knowledge of the property sector as well as a property management system highly advantageous

  • Committed to results and motivated to problem solve until issues are resolved

  • Strong time management and organisational skills
