Design and Planning Manager (Architect)
Client-side Opportunity - Student Accommodation Specialist

Our client is owned by one of the world's largest real estate investment firms and is a specialist in student accommodation across the UK, with over 30,000 beds at 90% occupancy.
We are pleased to be supporting them in their search for an experienced Architect to join their team in London.
Working closely with the Capital Projects and Refurbishment teams, the role of Design and Planning Manager will be responsible for design across the development lifecycle, from concepts for new acquisitions, to planning and consent of existing assets, stakeholder management, brand continuity, and project management through to completion.
This role would suit someone from an Architectural practice that has worked on a range of projects in the residential, PBSA, hotel or block building sectors. That is looking to make the jump to client-side with a progressive and forward-thinking team that will welcome new ideas and processes.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Statutory Planning - Overview on various planning applications and awareness of changes to local planning policies/plans making appropriate representation.
New Developments Feasibility - Block and mass planning of new sites for initial feasibility
Space planning of existing assets to establish opportunity to maximise beds and social spaces
Design standards - Responsible for the brand book which includes specification and look and feel.
Delivery - Support project teams on the delivery of developments and refurbishment projects ensuring they are delivered to the design standards. Reviewing emerging design and signing off the delivery of the projects
Technical design - supporting team on team design matters and emerging standards
Design Consultants - Manage the relationships with the various design consultants, ensuring maximum performance. Reviewing KPI scoring by the teams and providing review sessions with the consultants
Requirements;
RIBA Pt III
Experience in the residential sector with PBSA exposure ideal.
Proven full project lifecycle delivery
