Cobalt is working with a NHS Trust in Cheshire to source an interim Estates Officer focusing on Minor Works Project Management, paying £160-175 per day LTD rate (inside IR35, via umbrella company), depending on experience. This will be an initial 6-month contract with a view to extending beyond.

The successful candidate will cover minor works schemes, capital schemes (predominantly mechanical and electrical) and asbestos remediation schemes from inception to completion including the design, tendering and project management. The successful candidate will also work as an integral part of the Capital Development Team when delivering larger capital schemes.

You will have/be:

  • Technically qualified in a mechanical/electrical/building discipline or equivalent level of experience.

  • A relevant Degree in a mechanical/electrical/building discipline or equivalent level of experience.

  • The ability to develop client requirements into a technical brief including the preparation of high-quality CAD/Revit drawings, scheme specifications and documentation in accordance with NHS Health Technical Memorandum (HTMs) and Health Building Notes (HBNs), British Standards, all current legislation and Capital Development Procedures.

  • Demonstrable track record of delivering capital schemes within the NHS.

  • The ability to apply general and specialised engineering knowledge to solve engineering problems.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to co-ordinate with the Capital Development Team and other professionals to integrate the building services elements into the overall building design, taking into account the effect of statutory approvals process on overall design.
