Job Title - Project Planner

Location - East London

Project - Residential

Salary - £60,000 / £70,000 + Bonus + an excellent package

The Client / Project

Cobalt is working with a well-known developer that are looking for a Project Planner to work alongside the current Planning Manager, to help run and manage one of their most iconic residential regeneration schemes. The project will include over 1000 units of mid to high end residential homes. Some high rise blocks as well as on site amenities including shops, gym, swimming pool and a large medical centre.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Planning

The production and collation of information, for construction production, from Pre Contract to site commencement, and to provide assistance to site through to project completion if needed.

Process

  • To develop, implement, communicate and maintain the Project Programmes and coordinate with all departments involved.

  • To provide concise advice quickly to members of the team on aspects of the proposed scheme that have a material effect on the timely and efficient delivery of the scheme.

  • To manage all aspects of the administration of the system, with the aim of continually improving its effectiveness.

  • To ensure that all matters related to the Quality Management Systems are carried out.

MAIN TASKS

Planning

  • Ensure the production of programmes for all construction activities from start on site until completion of project.

  • To selectively attend design team meetings and advise development and preconstruction teams on the delivery effects of the designs being proposed, and help to develop efficient and profitable schemes.

  • To attend client meetings as necessary and help, if required, demonstrate skills and experience in the delivery of complex schemes.

  • Ensure that programmes are re-programmed as necessary to ensure accurate handover dates are provided for the business forecasts. Where necessary providing advice on delay mitigation early enough for action to be taken.

  • Update and appraise programmes on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure cash flow and production forecasting is accurate. To help prepare accurate monthly forecasts.

  • To liaise and provide assistance to the project managers in the production of the construction, target and "1 to 9" programmes and ensure that the contract period and delivery forecasts are not disrupted.

  • Ensure that programmes are updated on a regular basis.

  • Ensure that all revised programmes are issued to relevant departments/Personnel in the company format.

  • To provide a narrative to the programme explaining the reasons and assumptions used to prepare the programme and highlight the hidden risks.

  • Ensure that Historical and Plot Analysis Databases are maintained.

  • Prepare site layouts and logistics drawings as required.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills, have the ability and confidence in dealing with site staff including block managers and project managers, will need to demonstrate a solid background of contract planning, working on complex projects, including high rise and residential. In addition, it is essential they have a thorough understanding of construction techniques.
