Renewals Negotiator

Based Newcastle

12 month FTC

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

My client, an award winning property business and one of the UK's largest landlords, is seeking a Renewals Negotiator for their Newcastle office. This is initially a fixed term contract, but with the potential to go permanent.

Role

  • Negotiation and processing of tenancies renewals and change of sharers
  • Ensuring relevant legislation is adhered to and evidenced
  • Ensuring system notes are updated regularly and clearly and having followed process map
  • Where unable to renew a tenancy, work with the wider business to ensure minimum voids
  • Ensure maximum rental income/increases and tenancy terms and closure on renewals in a timely manner
  • Provide excellent customer service

Responsibilities

  • Offer and negotiation of renewals due, in a timely manner
  • Regular update of system with records of actions undertaken and negotiations on-going
  • Negotiation of the best contractual terms for the business (rents and length of tenancy)
  • Liaison with the wider business during negotiations with regards to arrears, property management issues and possible terminations
  • Responsible for all administration in relation to renewal tenancy processing, progressing and closure of renewal in timely manner
  • Ensure company practices and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Maintain paperwork and procedures to a high standard and in line with company practices and procedures
  • Liaison with the wider business to ensure best in class service for customers and to ensure minimum loss to business where possible
  • Liaise with the wider business to resolve any procedural and system issues
  • Ensure to provide great customer service to tenants (customers)
  • To ensure the business is compliant with all relevant legislation, ensure activities are undertaken in compliance with and clearly evidenced
  • Produce and update regular reports for renewal tenancy progress
  • Provide ongoing training and support to team members
  • Provide additional support to renewals manager when required
  • Monitor and progress the referencing of tenants and guarantors
  • Carry out and monitor 'Right to Rent' checks as required

Requirements

  • Knowledge of residential lettings, legislation and markets
  • Experienced negotiator, a good communicator, oral and written
  • A strong team player who is self-motivated, industrious and able to work well under pressure
  • Detail oriented, able to set priorities and able to work on simultaneous deadlines with strong organisational skills
  • Numerate - good academic record
  • Database experience
  • ARLA or RICS qualifications (desirable)
