You will be working for an industry leading Main Contractor that specialises in delivering new build, refurbishment and fit-out works across multiple sectors. This is an opportunity to join an award-winning Tier 1 contractor that can offer longevity, progression, and succession. You will be office based, working with a successful team of commercial professionals.
About the role
Reporting to the Regional Chief Estimator, you will be working amongst a team of 3 estimators, planners, and design managers, sitting within the commercial team of the business. You will be responsible for cost planning and estimating on large commercial build schemes across the country.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
Ensure compliance with departmental procedures for producing estimates.
Analyse key productivity and cost drivers through feedback from ongoing projects.
Develop strategies and systems for knowledge management to align with business unit goals.
Review all estimates to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Foster the professional development of estimating staff by sharing expertise and industry insights.
Prepare project and corporate documentation, including estimates.
Manage and present estimating/tendering information effectively.
Promote a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.
Oversee the identification and reduction of unnecessary costs and inefficiencies.
Utilise market knowledge to identify and manage the supply chain effectively.
Supervise the preparation of documents for tender reviews and adjudications.
Generate accurate financial forecasts within specified deadlines.
Stay updated on commercial, technical, legal, and insurance aspects of the market.
Balance profit maximisation
Develop budget pricing based on available information.
Prepare cash flow projections for tendering purposes as needed.
Lead the tender process for larger or more complex projects as required.
Represent the company by presenting tenders to clients effectively.
About you
To successfully apply for this role, you will need to have
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Confidence with a proven track record of presenting to stakeholders
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build rapport and maintain relationships
A significant breadth of experience in an Estimating position with a Main Contractor within the commercial build sector
Educated to degree level in a relevant field (non essential)
