About the Role

Our client is seeking an ambitious and analytical Assistant Planning Manager to work closely with the Managing Director across the full development lifecycle - from initial land appraisal through to securing planning consent.

This is a rare opportunity for someone with 2-5 years professional planning experience to gain broad, hands-on experience within a design-led, entrepreneurial developer, where you will take real responsibility and make a visible impact on live projects.

Our client is a fast-growing SME housebuilder based in London, delivering high-quality residential schemes across London and the Home Counties. Their developments typically range from 20 to 100 homes, and they are actively acquiring new sites to support their continued growth.

They believe homes can be beautiful, sustainable and economical. Every scheme they design reflects these values, creating thoughtfully considered places for people to live.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with land appraisals and development feasibility assessments
  • Supporting the preparation and management of planning applications
  • Coordinating with planning consultants, architects and external advisors
  • Conducting site research and policy analysis
  • Monitoring project programmes and key milestones
  • Supporting viability analysis and development reporting

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a town planning role
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, organised and commercially aware
  • Keen interest in residential development

Working Arrangements

  • Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm
  • Location: Central London, West End
  • Office attendance: 4 days per week
  • Attire: Business casual
