Commercial Valuations Director

Cobalt is working with a leading UK property consultancy looking to appoint a Director to join its established Valuation team in London.

This is a senior opportunity within a well established team advising a broad client base across London and the Home Counties, undertaking single asset and portfolio valuations across the full spectrum of commercial real estate.

The role combines hands on valuation work, client management, team leadership and business development, and would suit an experienced valuation professional looking to take on greater responsibility within a successful London platform.

The Role

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in the continued development and growth of the Commercial Valuation business.

Responsibilities will include:

• Leading and delivering commercial property valuations and valuation appraisals across a broad range of asset classes.
• Loan Security valuations.
• Working on both single assets and larger portfolios throughout London and the Home Counties.
• Undertaking valuations primarily for loan security and financial reporting/balance sheet purposes.
• Managing and developing relationships with key existing clients.
• Identifying new business opportunities and helping grow the team's client base and fee income.
• Supporting the leadership and day-to-day management of an established team of valuation professionals.
• Reviewing work and maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and professional reporting.
• Mentoring and developing junior members of the team.
• Working collaboratively with other departments to identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Contributing to the team's wider business plan, strategy and continued growth.

The Candidate

We are looking to speak with experienced commercial valuation professionals who can combine strong technical capability with client-facing and leadership skills.

You will ideally have:

• MRICS qualification and significant post-qualified valuation experience.
• A strong background in UK commercial property valuation.
• Experience undertaking valuations for loan security and/or financial reporting purposes.
• Exposure to a variety of commercial property sectors.
• Strong knowledge of the London and wider South East property market.
• Experience managing significant client relationships.
• The ability to review and oversee valuation work while maintaining high professional and compliance standards.
• Previous experience mentoring, managing or developing junior surveyors.
• A commercial mindset with an interest in business development and growing client relationships.
• Experience using Argus, KEL or similar valuation software.
• Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
