Construction/Project Manager
Cobalt is working with a prestigious property investment and development company renowned for its hands-on approach to delivering high-profile projects across London. The Role
You will play a critical role in the successful delivery of construction and development projects, leading initiatives from early-stage planning through to handover. Reporting directly to the Head of Projects, this role offers the opportunity to work across a range of mixed-use and commercial schemes, with real ownership and influence on every phase of the project lifecycle. You must be within a 45-minute commute of the Hammersmith/Fulham area.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading day-to-day management of high-quality development and refurbishment projects.
- Creating and implementing bespoke construction strategies tailored to a direct delivery model.
- Establishing and maintaining detailed project programmes and overseeing timely delivery.
- Working closely with the commercial team to manage budgets and track cost performance.
- Coordinating with consultants and external design teams to align with technical and planning requirements.
- Attending site regularly to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure design fidelity and build quality.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
- Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
Skills and Experience Needed
- Working knowledge of delivering construction or development projects in a client-side or contractor capacity.
- Strong site experience within a self-build or direct delivery environment is essential.
- Familiarity with London planning regulations, construction standards, and delivery practices.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple moving parts and timelines.
- Exceptional communication skills and confidence in leading external teams and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working across design, commercial and construction disciplines.
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience in a developer or self-delivery setting.
- Understanding of sustainability principles and modern construction methods.
- Degree qualified in project management, construction, architecture, or engineering.
- Professional accreditation (RICS, APM, CIOB) is a plus.
