About the Role

Cobalt is working with a vertically integrated developer and hotel operator with a strong pipeline of branded hotel schemes across Greater London. With in-house planning, development, construction and operational teams, they are seeking a Senior Construction Buyer to support the delivery of high-quality, design-led hospitality projects.

The Role/Responsibilities
Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, you will lead procurement across new-build hotel developments and large refurbishment projects in London.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end procurement of construction materials, FF&E, M&E packages and subcontract services.
  • Building and implementing procurement strategies aligned with project timelines, budgets, and design intent.
  • Negotiating contracts and securing best value through long-term supplier relationships.
  • Driving cost efficiencies while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Collaborating with internal teams across planning, design, construction and operations.
  • Supporting project delivery with procurement tracking, reporting and risk management.

 

Skills needed/requirements

  • Working knowledge of procurement in hotel, residential, or mixed-use construction.
  • Strong commercial and contractual skills with experience negotiating complex packages.
  • Excellent understanding of build processes, subcontract procurement and FF&E supply chains.
  • Experience working on high-quality, design-led developments.
  • Ability to work across multiple live projects with competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems such as COINS, Oracle or similar.
  • CIPS certification or relevant construction procurement qualifications preferred.
