About the Role
Cobalt is working with a leading real estate developer to recruit a Development Manager to oversee landmark hotel and mixed-use schemes across the UK. This role suits someone with proven experience delivering complex projects from post-acquisition through to construction and completion.
The Organisation
Our client is a respected, privately-owned developer with a diverse portfolio spanning hotels, student accommodation, and BTR assets. With full in-house capability across acquisition, planning, and delivery, they combine commercial focus with a commitment to design quality and community impact.
The Role
You'll lead large-scale developments through all RIBA stages, managing consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to exceptional standards. A strong focus will be on hotel delivery, from planning and procurement to handover.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee projects from feasibility through construction and completion.
- Lead the design and planning process, securing necessary approvals.
- Manage procurement, budgets, and contractor performance.
- Ensure quality, compliance, and risk management across all stages.
- Build strong relationships with funders, JV partners, and authorities.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in hotel or hospitality development delivery.
- Strong project management and commercial acumen.
- Skilled in managing design, planning, and construction teams.
- Confident communicator and collaborator across stakeholders.
- Degree-qualified in a relevant field.
