About the Role
Cobalt is partnering with a leading property company to recruit a Facilities Technician to support the day-to-day operation of a portfolio of vibrant commercial and mixed-use sites across London.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with facilities management or maintenance experience who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience.
The role
As a Facilities Technician, you'll work closely with the Facilities Management and Centre Management teams to ensure each location remains safe, compliant and welcoming for customers and visitors.
You'll take ownership of day-to-day maintenance tasks, support planned and reactive works, and play a key role in delivering an excellent workplace experience across the portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out first-fix maintenance, repairs and general decorating works.
- Supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Monitoring the condition of sites and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Assisting with contractor supervision, inductions and site safety.
- Completing routine health, safety and compliance inspections.
- Supporting fire safety, water hygiene and statutory compliance programmes.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CAFM system.
- Monitoring waste management and supporting sustainability initiatives.
- Building positive relationships with customers, contractors and colleagues.
- Providing support across multiple locations when required.
To be successful as a Facilities Technician, you'll bring:
- Working knowledge of commercial facilities management or maintenance.
- Experience carrying out first-fix maintenance and minor repairs.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical services together with health and safety procedures.
- Experience working with contractors and service providers.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Confidence working independently while contributing to a wider team.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- IT literacy and the ability to learn new maintenance systems.
- Awareness of fire safety, asbestos and Legionella requirements.
- An FM qualification or CAFM experience would be advantageous.
