Tom Turner
Tom Turner
Principal Consultant, Residential Development & Town Planning

About the Role

Have you completed a Town Planning related Masters and gained 6+ months professional Town Planning experience either through a placement, internship or some work experience?

I am collaborating closely with a highly regarded boutique planning consultancy based in Central London. They are in search of a Graduate Town Planner to join their team, where you'll have the opportunity to consult on a diverse range of major projects, spanning the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.

You could enjoy working with a collaborative team, where you will be offered close mentorship from successful Directors keen to promote and reward for strong performances. In addition to this, the team also enjoy regular socials, annual trips abroad and healthy discretionary performance related bonuses.

They are known for their commitment to honesty and integrity, serving a wide range of clients, from major PLC developers to boutique firms, and covering various sectors, all across the UK.

Upon joining, you'll be thrust into a dynamic work environment with a substantial workload, providing you with the chance to excel.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with projects and overseeing smaller development management processes, and assisting senior colleagues on more major developments.
  • Cultivating and maintaining client relationships by offering precise advice and effective communication on a regular basis.
  • Managing pre-application tasks and guiding planning applications through the development cycle.
  • Writing representations to local authorities for potential site promotions.

Ideally, you should possess:

  • Ideally 6+ months of professional planning experience, preferably within consultancy, although local planning authority (LPA) experience will be considered.
  • A strong skill set and expertise in development management.
  • Ideally working towards your RTPI APC.
  • Excellent written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

In return for your dedication, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, ongoing training, and the opportunity to be part of an exceptional team and company that fosters career progression. Here, the focus is on the quality of your work output rather than strict working hours.

Please apply here or give me Tom a call to discuss. My client is looking to find the right candidate as soon as possible - so if in doubt, do get in touch. I also have other clients and roles that may be of interest.

If you do not hear anything back within one week, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion, but I will retain your details for future roles.

When applying to any role through Cobalt, your CV will never be shared with a client without your prior consent. Apply in confidence below or get in touch with me for a confidential discussion about the position via tturner@cobaltrecruitment.com
