This is a great fit for someone with 2-3 years' experience looking to build on their design and placemaking skills in a hybrid working environment.

You'll be joining a consultancy with a strong UK housing portfolio and a collaborative approach to suburban placemaking. The ideal candidate will have worked on residential-led masterplans outside of London and be confident producing drawings, layouts, and supporting reports for sites at various planning stages.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting the design and planning of residential and mixed-use masterplans

  • Producing layout plans, concept diagrams and presentation material

  • Contributing to feasibility studies, planning documents and design statements

  • Working across projects at various scales, often in suburban or edge-of-settlement locations

  • Supporting the senior team with design development, planning strategy and client work

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has 2-3 years' experience in urban design, preferably in the UK housing sector

  • Has worked on suburban residential masterplans and understands the planning context

  • Is confident with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and SketchUp

  • Communicates clearly and can work collaboratively with planners, clients and consultants

  • Has excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude to problem solving

  • Holds a relevant degree in Urban Design, Architecture or related discipline

What's on offer:

  • Competitive salary depending on experience

  • Flexible hybrid working model

  • Supportive, sociable team with a focus on placemaking and design quality

  • Great exposure to projects and clients across the planning and development sector

  • Career progression opportunities and ongoing training
