Cobalt is currently working with one of Europe's leading, real estate, professional services firm, who are in the process of onboarding a large new, private equity backed client.

This role will take the lead on servicing this new client by leading a team of Fund Accountants and taking responsibility for day-to-day accounting. As well as managing the client relationship.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of accountants in the day-to-day operations of several portfolios

  • Review team members' work ensuring accuracy, completeness, and overall presentation of deliverables (not limited to bookkeeping files, trial balance, financial statements, auditors/investors confirmation). As well as monitor and report on team performance and deadlines.

  • Undertake quality review of trial balance and financial statements.

  • Manage client queries, providing necessary calculations (such as management fees, carried interest, solvency calculation) to the client.

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, third parties (such as auditors), and central services, communicating effectively through formalised reporting.

  • Support the development of junior team members. Prepare and complete Individual Development Plans.

  • Assisting the management in preparing financial statements templates and setting up complex bookkeeping

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA or equivalent qualification

  • Strong academic background

  • Demonstrate full understanding of Real Estate / Private Equity fund accounting

  • Experience using Investran, Viewpoint or Yardi systems is desirable

  • Supervisory or line management experience

  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
