Estates Manager (Building)

Cobalt are working with a NHS Trust in London to recruit an interim Estates Manager with a Building background, paying £28-30 per hour (inside IR35, via Umbrella Company) for an initial 3-6 month contract.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage the daily operations related to the Estates department, managing trades staff, in control of planned preventative and responsive reactive maintenance, repair service to the hospital and associated community properties.

You will have/be:

• Experience in carrying out the preparation of an annual plan of irregular maintenance needs based on the building service surveys and submit proposals on Estates matters for inclusion in the operational and forward planning programme

• A degree or HND in Engineering, Building Services, or related subject, or significant experience (5+ years) in similar role

• Responsible for the development and provision of specific areas of the annual business plans for all estate management arrangements, operations and service provision

• Management experience in an Engineering, FM or Building environment within a large organisation

• Experience of budgetary responsibility, cost improvement plans and QIPP

• Experience of managing Engineering or Building Services projects

• Specialist knowledge of Engineering services across all Estates and Facilities

• Experience of engineering and energy management in large organisation

• Good understanding of acute hospitals engineering systems, fire safety and Health & Safety

• Good interpersonal skills: influencing, maintaining key working relationship, negotiation, communication skills, (Both verbal and written)

• The ability to travel around the Trust's estate as required by the role
