Financial Accountant & Property Analyst

My client, one of London's best known property investors, developers and asset managers are currently seeking a commercially minded Property Analyst/ Accountant to join their market leading team.

Not only will this role play a pivotal part to business growth, but you will also be the finance lead partnering other business functions including asset management, investment management, property management and senior management. This is a split role across group reporting, analysis and investment appraisal.

Key duties include, but not limited to:

  • Analysis of all aspects of the investment property portfolio

  • All aspects of financial analysis across the portfolio including gross to net performance

  • Investment appraisal for all developments alongside the asset management and building surveyor teams to enhance reporting on cash flow projections against original budget and final cost

  • Preparation of the half yearly management and annual statutory accounts

  • Undertake the preparation and analysis of annual MSCI property bench marking submissions in conjunction with asset managers

  • Preparation of the annual budget for the property business

  • Preparation of long-term financial forecasts

  • Evolving and improving reporting including greater use of chart and visualisation to enhance the presentation of information to management and the business

  • Report internally at a senior business level, with a focus on geographical analysis, property sector analysis and asset/property manager analysis

  • Get exposure to preparing models alongside the property teams & FC/FD

Key requirements

  • ACA/ICAS/ACCA/CIMA Qualified

  • Experience working in an all-round financial accounting capacity, with evidence of a broad experience working in a commercial accounts department

  • Experience of property and accounting management systems - ability to upload, download, interrogate and manipulate data

  • Strong Excel Skills, including pivot tables and modelling

  • Working knowledge of all business taxes - in particular VAT, CIS and corporation tax

  • The ability to work to deadlines in the preparation of project based assignments and therefore flexible in working hours

  • Strong communications skills
