Cobalt have partnered with a boutique real estate investor and developer, currently seeking a Financial Controller to join the team. This role will work closely with the COO/CFO, as well as be key point of contact to the board on new investments, as well as be a commercial presence in key decision making.

Not only will this role champion the accounts department, you will also take ownership of the existing finance team, prepare detailed analysis of the accounts and business partner the heads of property/ asset management.

Key duties include:

The duties will include:

  • Reporting to the CFO with daily interaction with Executive Board and Shareholders as required

  • Responsible for maintenance of financial systems, accounting operations, and financial reporting

  • Review of historic quarterly forecast cash flow reporting

  • Review and submission of quarterly bank reporting

  • Preparation of quarterly Board and Shareholder reporting including forecast cash flows and distribution recommendations

  • Loan account records management

  • Responsible for delivery of all submission of accounts, tax returns etc.

  • Manage year-end financial reporting including statutory accounts and audit process and liaise with external advisors

  • Support CFO in executing debt and development financing

  • Interface with property managers for rent and service charge collections

  • Involvement in all commercial aspects of the business; legal, construction, property management

  • Supervision and management of Management Accountants and Accounts Assistant

Requirements

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent

  • Experience within the real estate either practice or industry

  • Willingness to develop commercial experience alongside a core finance role

  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities for yourself and team in a fast moving, dynamic working environment

  • Proven experience in numerical analysis

  • Clear communication with internal and external contacts
