Cobalt have paired with a boutique private equity real estate investor, currently seeking their first finance hire alongside the CFO. This role is in a Fund Accounting capacity where you will champion reports across the business, as well as be a key point of contact to third parties.

This is a great opportunity for someone that would like to work in a highly entrepreneurial business with huge growth potential. There is also a large focus on stakeholder management both internally and externally at a senior level.

  • Maintenance and control of primary accounting records

  • Posting and reconciliation of cash

  • Preparation of NAV statements and investor reporting packs

  • Assisting with preparation of annual statutory accounts in line appropriate accounting standards

  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations

  • Liaising with external lawyers, auditors, Business Partners and assisting with Investor requests

  • Prepare quarterly investor reporting, including liaising with the investment team, investor services and the third-party fund administrators

  • production of property fund data and preparation of VAT returns

  • Cash management including arranging payments, managing investor drawdowns and monitoring liquidity

  • Ensuring adequate finance procedures are in place and implementing improved procedures where necessary

  • Support to fund and asset managers with any valuation and accounting queries. Liaising with managing agents, auditors, lawyers and trustees

  • Responsible for cash management and reviewing investor draw down notices. Work closely with investment management teams in both London and other offices on closing transactions

  • Preparing investment and cash reconciliations

  • Performance analysis & measurement of investments and client accounts

  • Calculate and instruct foreign currency trades for exposures relating to separate account clients

  • Preparation of ad-hoc financial analysis, updating records &systems to account for AUM, transactions, fees billable, reconciliations etc

Experience required

  • Newly/Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or AAT qualified

  • Strong Academics

  • Experience in working in a small or large, complex, multinational organisations

  • Experience in property/construction preferred

  • Excellent excel skills

  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organised

  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Energy and drive to deliver in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
