M&E Engineering Manager

Cobalt are working with a NHS Trust in London to recruit an interim Engineering Manager with a Mechanical or Electrical bias, paying £28-30 per hour (inside IR35, via Umbrella Company) for an initial 3-6 month contract.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage the daily operations related to the Estates department, managing trades staff, in control of planned preventative and responsive reactive maintenance, repair service to the hospital and associated community properties.

​

You will have/be:

• Management experience in an Engineering, FM or Building environment within a large organisation

• A degree or HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services or related subject, or significant experience (5+ years) in similar role.

• Experienced in the planning of long-term maintenance strategies for critical plant and contingency planning for critical services

• Strong understanding of all plant, systems and equipment throughout all areas of relevance

• Experience of budgetary responsibility, cost improvement plans and QIPP

• Experience of managing Engineering or Building Services projects.

• Specialist knowledge of Engineering services across all Estates and Facilities

• Responsible for the development and provision of specific areas of the annual business plans for all estate management arrangements, operations and service provision

• Understanding of acute hospitals engineering systems, fire safety and Health & Safety

• Good interpersonal skills: influencing, maintaining key working relationship, negotiation, communication skills, (Both verbal and written)

• Be able to travel around the Trust's estate as required by the role
