Cobalt are working with a NHS Trust in West Sussex that are recruiting an interim Minor Works Project Manager, paying £220-£240 per day LTD rate (inside IR35, via umbrella company) depending on experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of building and engineering minor projects for the organisation; deputising for the Head of Estates and for management of the organisation's estate maintenance staff, with particular emphasis on the estates minor works projects.
The individual will manage all estates building and engineering staff, specialist contractors and consultants under his or her control.
You will have/be:
Able to communicate detailed information at Board level regarding plans for major maintenance programmes.
Excellent negotiation skills in dealings with contractors and suppliers.
Able to interpret and analyse complex information / data sets that will help to inform plans for future innovative projects.
Able to concentrate fully on the task when drawing up complex plans and business papers / reports for Divisional Managers and the Board.
Ability to adapt plans and maintain focus and resilience when faced with major changes to planned project programmes.
Ensure that wherever possible, any upgrade works made to the Estate, provide an improvement and safe working environment to the Patients / Service users with a strong focus on quality initiatives.
Responsible for ensuring that all staff are compliant with statutory and mandatory and appraisal requirements in line with Trust policy.
Extensive post qualification experience/specialist knowledge of building/engineering services and hospital engineering.
Specialist knowledge of and training in hospital building and engineering structures/services gained through training and experience.
Good written and verbal communication.
Able to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
A self-motivated, highly organised individual with a helpful, approachable, and supporting manner, to successfully deliver this essential and challenging role.
Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence others not directly managed.
Experience of working across a large estate with multiple sites.
Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as required within and beyond Trust boundaries.
An accomplished leader.
Effective communicator at all levels.
