Planning Manager / Head of Planning


£65,000 - £85,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planner looking to make the move client-side. We are working closely with a leading industrial developer as they seek to strengthen their team with the addition of an experienced Planner to lead on planning matters for them.

Our client has very ambitious plans that span London and the wider South East meaning you will be at the forefront of ensuring their delivery. With a strong pipeline of capital they are actively bringing in sites and as the lead within the business for Planning matters you will be responsible for providing in-house advice and working closely with the team as they acquire and develop sites.

As a Planning Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing planning appraisals as the business considers further site acquisitions and the relevant research and analysis of such sites;

  • Preparing planning applications and managing consultants who will be undertaking them at consultancy's used by the developer and selected by you;

  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with internal departments to ensure business objectives are met and Planning queries are handled;

  • Preparing responses to relevant legislation (for example, Local Plans, changes in legislation, GLA changes, etc.).

The ideal Planning Manager will be able to demonstrate a clear track record of success within the private sector and particularly with industrial assets. Chartered membership of the RTPI is essential as are superb communication skills as you shall be managing Planning Consultants, engaging with an array of Local Authorities and also play a key role internally in delivering projects.
