Business Rates - Surveyor level

Ccbalt are working with a Real Estate Property Consultancy who are seeking a Business Rates Surveyor to join it's expanding London team. This position is well-suited to candidates with 1-3 years PQE (or newly qualified) who are looking to develop their expertise within a professional, client-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and manage rating appeals, valuations, and negotiations with the VOA
• Provide strategic advice to clients on minimising business rates liabilities
• Prepare accurate reports, calculations, and supporting evidence
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, authorities, and colleagues
• Stay current with rating legislation and industry updates
• Contribute to business development through pitches, presentations, and client engagement

Candidate Profile

• MRICS, IRRV (Hons), RSA qualified (or working towards)
• 1-3 years PQE (or newly qualified) with exposure to business rates
• Sound knowledge of rating principles and VOA procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organised, detail-driven, and motivated to progress towards senior responsibilities
