About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Planning Manager to take ownership of the planning function for this complex, high-value programme. You will play a central role in developing and managing the integrated master schedule, aligning multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring robust delivery against time, cost, and quality objectives.
The Project
Our client who are a global Tier one contractor are delivering a major, flagship development in central London - a cutting-edge healthcare and research facility that will bring together leading scientists, clinicians, and patients in a world-class environment designed to accelerate medical innovation.
This transformative project will house multiple national centres of excellence and is set to become a global benchmark for integrated research and clinical care, with a particular focus on tackling one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time. The facility will also include spaces for public engagement, collaboration, and cross-disciplinary innovation, significantly enhancing the UK's research capability and global leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of planning, scheduling, and project controls for the full lifecycle of the development.
- Build, maintain, and monitor detailed and integrated programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject.
- Develop resource-loaded schedules and drive earned value analysis across workstreams.
- Guide programme risk assessments and time impact analyses, advising stakeholders on mitigation strategies.
- Lead and mentor a team of planners, embedding best practice and continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, presenting clear programme data, progress reports, and scenario modelling.
- Align planning outputs with contractual obligations, procurement timelines, and sustainability targets.
- Work in close collaboration with project leadership to maintain momentum and anticipate programme challenges.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Significant experience managing planning functions on large-scale, complex capital projects - ideally in healthcare, science, education, or infrastructure sectors.
- Excellent proficiency in planning tools such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, and MS Project.
- Deep knowledge of project controls, earned value management (EVM), risk management, and NEC contract environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Degree-qualified in engineering, construction, or a related discipline.
- Membership of APM, CIOB, ICE, RICS, or equivalent professional body (preferred).
