Junior Accountant 12 Months FTC

£28,000 - £30,000

Cobalt is currently working with a leading European property developer who specialise in commercial spaces. They have a number of large projects in London and have recently won the contract to develop a key area of the city centre.

This role is an initial 12-month contract to assist with their new project, however as the company grows it is likely this will go permanent. This is a great opportunity for candidates who are looking to develop their finance and accounting skills within a leading real estate business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Uploading invoices to the DMS and maintaining the invoice register for UK domicile companies

  • Processing payments runs

  • Processing expense claims and business trip claims and assigning codes in line with internal rules

  • Performing bank reconciliations for all banks

  • Recording invoices and preparing batches for posting

  • Resolving accounting queries with the creditors and reconciling respective account statements

  • Resolving accounting queries with the utility suppliers and reconciling account statements

  • Assisting with VAT and CIS returns preparation for all entities

  • Maintaining bank files

  • Verifying items billed against items ordered and received and reconciling differences

  • Collating data for compliance

  • Participating at monthly, quarterly and year end closings to ensure timely UK statutory and IFRS reporting in accordance with corporate deadlines

  • Ensuring that accounting practices comply with statutory requirements

  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal customers

  • Dealing with and providing information to external auditors (annual audits, transaction audits)

  • On time delivery of primary tasks - regular reports, reconciliations

  • Delivery of ad-hoc tasks within reasonable deadlines agreed upfront

Requirements:

  • Previous property accounting experience is advantageous

  • Experience processing invoices

  • A good understanding of purchase ledger, credits / debits

  • Good organisation / communication skills
