Project Finance Business Partner

Project Finance Business Partner, Manchester, £85,000 Per Annum

My client is an innovative and leading national property developer seeking a Project Finance Business Partner to assist and lead with the provision of accounting and financial management services with regards to one of their key projects.

Main duties include:

  • Take ownership of all aspects of accounting for the project

  • Responsibility for reporting for the project including the production of the monthly management accounting and finance pack.

  • Manage payment of suppliers and tenant invoicing carried out by the Operations team

  • Liaising with joint venture, funding partners, external auditors and attending regular project team meetings

  • Working, advising and business partnering with the project team

  • Together with the Financial Analyst and the Team Head, work on improving cost reporting and build up the monthly finance pack

  • Transactional support and managing cash in and outflows for acquisitions and disposals together with the administration of setting up new companies if so required

  • Prepare consolidation journal for project for the purpose of business full year and half year results

  • Responsible for drawdowns, including grant, equity and loan requests for development facilities and forward funded projects

  • Taking ownership of cost monitoring and budget control regards project spend and cost reporting

  • Support with tax compliance, statutory and legal obligations, including the preparation of VAT returns

  • All other ad hoc duties as required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Commercial real estate experience with proven post qualified experience within the real estate industry

  • Solid technical accounting knowledge in respect of real estate

  • Understanding of different corporate structures, joint ventures, and partnerships

  • Extensive experience of debt and equity draw downs

  • Experience of accounting software

  • Experience of producing statutory financial statements and consolidation

  • Proven self-starter

  • Confident with Excel and working on cash flows and appraisal models

  • Highly organised, ability to prioritise, ability to work under pressure, multi-task and excellent attention to detail

  • Experience of working with teams outside of the Finance function

  • Ability to work as part of a multi-functional team to ensure deadlines are met on time
